Neighborhood Revitalization Programs

Through our Neighborhood Revitalization programs including, Critical Home Repair, Aging in Place, and A Brush with Kindness, you'll find resources for home repairs, weatherization assistance, energy-efficiency upgrades, resources for aging homeowners, and more throughout Goodhue County.

 

We work locally with residents, community leaders, and organizations to best address real concerns and improve the lives of the people who live there.

Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity’s Critical Home Repair (CHR) program is designed to help lower income homeowners on a variety of projects to improve the safety of the home and the health of the people who live there.

Home repairs may include:

  • Correcting mandatory rehab problems such as roofs, windows, siding/exterior painting

  • Making a home more suitable for a family by adding accessibility modifications

  • *Additions or expansions are not included.​​

Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity’s A Brush with Kindness (ABWK) program is designed to help lower income homeowners maintain the exterior of their homes by providing safe and healthy housing repairs and improvements  to the exterior of their home.(i.e. installing flooring, patching and painting), siding, windows, and landscaping..

 

​Home improvements may include:

  • Correcting mandatory rehab problems such as roofs, windows, siding/exterior painting

  • Landscaping

  • Seasonal Maintenance

Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity’s Aging in Place (AIP) and Live Well at Home programs are designed to help preserve homeownership by bringing housing services together to assist older adults to remain in their home safely as they age.

Home modifications may include:

  • Smart doorbells and devices

  • Improved lighting

  • Ramps

  • Stair lifts and chair lifts

  • Grab bars and extra railings

  • Hand-held showers

Qualifications

01.

Own and occupy your home.

02.

Meet income guidelines.

03.

Demonstrate that the project(s) within the scope of Habitat’s capabilities will allow you to stay in your home longer and more safely.

04.

Willing (when able) to assist volunteers with the work.

05.

Willingness to advocate/support the work Habitat through prayer or publicity.
