Home Is Where Care Lives

Meet Our Newest Homeowners: Denise and Elaine

For Denise, homeownership wasn’t just a dream; it was a necessity. She works full-time and is the sole caregiver for her mother, Elaine, whose stage IV cancer made safe, accessible housing essential. Their previous home could no longer support Elaine’s care, putting their future—and their time together—at risk.

When a new Habitat home in Red Wing became available, Denise took a leap of faith. Today, she and her mom have a new home designed for their future—one that allows Elaine to remain at home, surrounded by love, dignity, and stability.

“Because of blessings like Habitat for Humanity,” Denise shared, “my mom will never have to move into assisted living.”

Thanks to the incredible support of Goodhue County Habitat donors and volunteers, Denise and Elaine now have a place to build peace of mind, comfort, and hope. This is the kind of impact we have when we work together.

Welcome home, Denise and Elaine.
