Welcome Carrie! Carrie Wittenberg joins us as our new Administrative and Development Coordinator. This is a brand-new position that’s been built to support both bookkeeping and fund development efforts.
Carrie has been a supporter of Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity since 2020 when she joined our team after transitioning from a role in Lighting Quotations and Design. Her first role with Goodhue County Habitat was as the Community Engagement Coordinator managing volunteers during COVID-19. When she transitioned back into the lighting industry, she did not forego her Habitat for Humanity roots; she stepped into an advisory role. Since 2022, she served as the chair of the Marketing and Financial Resources committee and has been managing the backend portion of our annual Spring has Sprung fundraising celebration since it’s inception.
While she has been involved with Goodhue County Habitat already for a number of years, her journey with Habitat for Humanity began with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. She began volunteering on a regular basis with her church youth group and eventually joined their team as an AmeriCorps volunteer, serving as a site coordinator. Over the course of her year of service, she worked on the construction of 7 homes across the Twin Cities.
Carrie jokingly describes her favorite hobby as “carpooling,” and you’ll find her and her husband cheering on their teenaged daughter at soccer games and Alpine ski races throughout much of the year. When sports are in the off-season, she enjoys reading, knitting, tackling building projects, and spending time with her family at their lake cabin in northwest Wisconsin.
