Volunteer Russ working on a Habitat Home

He Came for One Day

Fifteen Years Later, Russ Is Still Building Homes—and Community

What began as a single day of volunteering became a 15-year commitment for Russ. After retiring, he stepped up even more—now volunteering 8–10 hours each week as a Construction Lead for Habitat’s Red Wing Go-To Team.

With more than 1,000 volunteer hours, Russ helps turn plans into homes and neighbors into community.

“Anyone can volunteer,” he says.
And his story proves it.
