Momentum is building at HOPE Heights—Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity’s largest project to date. Located on the former St. John’s Hospital site, this five-acre development will bring 26 affordable homes to Red Wing through a Planned Unit Development (PUD) that maximizes housing while minimizing traffic disruptions.
This fall, construction is scheduled to begin on the first twin home along Minnesota Street—the portion of the site that can move forward without waiting for new alley and infrastructure work. The neighborhood will ultimately include 10 single-family homes and 8 twin homes, most facing 4th and 5th Streets with garage access from a central alley.
We are incredibly grateful for strong early financial support from the Red Wing Area Fund and for the City of Red Wing’s collaboration on a state housing infrastructure grant application.
Infrastructure work is expected to begin in 2026, with additional homes following each year until all 26 are complete.
We look forward to sharing progress as HOPE Heights comes to life—and to inviting our community to be part of it.
