Exciting Leadership Updates and a New Space to Grow!

Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity is starting the new year strong with exciting changes in leadership, staff, and a newly renovated space to support our growing mission.

In January, our first Board of Directors meeting of the year was held in our brand-new conference room at the Red Wing Habitat headquarters. This spacious and functional meeting area—once a garage—was thoughtfully transformed by our dedicated Go-To Team volunteers, led by Habitat's Construction Manager Bob Bidon.

Thanks to the time and effort of our volunteers, this renovation now provides the capacity to host larger on-site meetings for staff, board members, and community groups—enhancing collaboration as we continue building homes, community, and hope.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to outgoing Board President Nicholas Abney of Red Wing for over eight years of dedicated service and leadership to Habitat. His commitment to our mission and to affordable housing has been instrumental in driving our work forward. Thank you, Nic!

An engaged and active Board of Directors is vital to supporting Executive Director Bob Hawley and the entire Habitat team as we continue to build momentum and expand our impact throughout Goodhue County.

This year, we’re thrilled to welcome four new, dynamic Board Members whose diverse expertise and passion will help strengthen our impact. Their combined experience and enthusiasm come at a pivotal time for Goodhue County Habitat. With major projects underway—including the Hope Heights Development, two Build for Tomorrow student build projects, and the launch of our Aging in Place/Live Well at Home program—our affiliate is busier than ever!

At this meeting, the Board proudly elected its new slate of Officers:

President: Maggie Cook, Red Wing

Vice Presidents: Justine Boulton, Wanamingo & Tracy Bible, Red Wing

Treasurer: Kim Simonson, Zumbrota

Secretary: Lana Huemann, Zumbrota

Joe White, Engineer from Lake City

Stuart Campbell, Banker from Kenyon

Tina Langton, Appraiser from Red Wing
