Your Expertise, Our Mission: Join our Habitat Leadership Teams

At Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity, we believe that everyone deserves a decent place to live. Our mission is to build homes, communities, and hope. But this mission is only possible with the dedication and passion of individuals like you. We are seeking committed community members to join us in a variety of roles, from serving on our Board of Directors to participating in executive committees, sub-committees, or as community advocates and liaisons.

Why Volunteer with Us?

Volunteering with Habitat for Humanity is more than just lending a helping hand; it’s about making a lasting impact. Our volunteers play a critical role in our success, helping to guide our strategic direction, build and renovate homes, and engage with the communities we serve. By joining our team, you become a part of a movement that transforms lives—one home, one family, one community at a time.

Opportunities to Get Involved

We have several ways you can contribute your skills and passion to our mission:

1. Board of Directors (BOD): Our Board of Directors are the backbone of our organization, responsible for overseeing Habitat’s strategic direction, financial health, and overall mission fulfillment. We are looking for individuals with a strong commitment to community service and experience in areas like finance, law, marketing, or construction. Representation from each community within Goodhue County, including Lake City, Pine Island, Kenyon, Goodhue, Dennison, and Bellechester, is highly encouraged.

2. Executive Committees & Sub-Committees: These committees are essential in ensuring that our day-to-day operations align with our long-term goals. The Executive Committee, consisting of key officers and additional directors, plays a pivotal role in finance, budget, human resources, and strategic planning. Additionally, our various sub-committees focus on specific areas such as family services, building and site selection, marketing and financial resources, and volunteer and community relations. These roles are perfect for individuals who want to contribute their expertise in a more focused capacity.

3. Community Advocates & Liaisons: As a community advocate or liaison, you will be the bridge between Habitat and the communities we serve. You’ll work to raise awareness of our programs, recruit volunteers, and secure local support. This role is vital in ensuring that our mission reaches every corner of Goodhue County and that we can continue to serve more families in need.

What We’re Looking For

We seek individuals who are passionate about affordable housing and community development. Whether you have professional skills in areas like construction, finance, or marketing, or you simply have a heart for service, there’s a place for you at Habitat. We value diversity, equity, and inclusion and aim to have a Board and committees that reflect the rich diversity of our community.

How to Get Involved

If you are interested in joining us in any of these capacities, we would love to hear from you. Please visit our Bloomerang Volunteer Portal or email bobhawley@gchabitat.org to learn more about each role and fill out an interest form. Together, we can continue to build homes, hope, and community across Goodhue County.

Join us, and let’s build something great together!
