Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity is looking for caring, dependable volunteers to serve as Home Support Volunteers during minor home repair projects.
This important role aligns with our "Crossing the Threshold" policy where two staff or a staff member and a volunteer will be present during interior rehab projects.
As a Home Support Volunteer, you'll accompany a Habitat staff member into the home--not to do the repair work, but to provide a friendly presence, ensure safety and comfort for both the homeowner and staff, and embody the spirit of trust that Habitat stands for.
What you'll do:
· Be present during interior construction visits alongside Habitat staff.
· Greet homeowners and help create a welcoming atmosphere.
· Uphold safety, respect, and confidentiality in the home.
· Report any concerns or incidents to staff.
· Pass a background check prior to volunteering for this role.
What you won't do: No construction skills are needed! You won't be asked to perform construction tasks--just to be present, supportive and engaged.
Time commitment: Flexible and project-based (typically a few hours per visit)
Why it matters: Your presence ensures that every home project is completed safely, respectfully, and in partnership--core values that make our community. At Habitat, we love our volunteers. This work would not be possible without you. THANK YOU!
